Over my time working to make our small part of the world better I've learned quite a bit about the needs that rural Texans face. Job stagnation, wealth stockpiling and policies that work against the poor and middle class are prevalent in Texas.
I’ve demonstrated leadership in our community and have done real, measurable work to change minds; expand visibility of rural needs; and develop our collective reputation as people willing to sacrifice for others.
Moreover, my work to connect Abilene and the Big Country to other like-minded volunteers and groups not only in Texas but across the country has culminated in a shift in the younger, progressive mindset and the older, traditionalists here locally. I have facilitated a hopeful shift in thinking that things here can change for the better. This campaign would be the culmination of that work.
To achieve my goals I am willing to sacrifice my business and my time. I am willing to commit all that I am to the people of Texas in the uphill hope that they are gracious enough to let me represent them.
This is not a campaign of ego but of us. We have to take the hand of fate and lead rural Texas to a brighter future controlled by us, not the wealthy.
Thank you for working in the best interest of our shared values.
